Empathy versus Sympathy (VIDEO)

In this AMAZING, award-winning animated short film (less than 3-minutes), the often confused concepts of Empathy and Sympathy are explored and explained.  It’s one of our favorites at Assessments 24×7 and we thought it appropriate to revisit this terrific film again for the holiday season.  Enjoy! The holidays are officially in full swing and that means visiting with family and friends– many of whom you may not have seen for some time.  While it’s a joyous time of the year for many, there are also those with whom it can be a stressful, difficult and sometimes lonely. Maybe you know of a co-worker who’s without family?  Or a family member who is without work?  Often times the best way to help the other person, while also building the relationship, is knowing HOW and WHEN to demonstrate either Sympathy or Empathy.
